Born in Shetland (1957 - ) and following early retirement from a Corporate career, I recently graduated as an award winning Fine Arts student of the University of the Highlands and Islands*. My multi-medium practice is influenced by my environmental surroundings - the structural and seasonal influences of the ever-changing sea and landscape are inevitably reflected in my artwork. Having recently relocated to Margate in order to immerse myself in the local art-scene, my surroundings remain a dominant influence.
At heart I’m a carver! My aim is to showcase the inherent and natural beauty of the medium I’m working in whether, it’s a two dimensional painting, collage or, three dimensional assemblage, ceramic or stone carved sculpture.
I also use photography to capture decisive moments that serve either as stand-alone images or as motivation for other works: I also extend my image capture into short films creating narrative and, non-verbal pieces.
My website encompasses examples from each of my disciplines. My artworks are available for sale and in some cases as prints. I am also available for commissioning work. Thank you for taking the opportunity to visit my site.
